While thinking through the social isolation in today's world, an image from this engagement session came to my mind. I shot this session a few years back. It's this first image of the two of them in the middle of a country road with the fog and mist around them. That's kind of how it feels today. But what I love most about this image is the realization that all that matters is who is by your side. Hand in Hand we will make it through.

I can not get over this session. During the session Julia asked me; "so do you do a lot of winter snow shoots?" "HECK NO!!!!" I do shoot in the winter quite a bit but it's so rare to get a session with weather as beautiful as this. It wasn't too cold. The snow wasn't too thick. It was snowing but you could still drive around town okay. This is rare and this is what people try to have when they plan a winter session. It was honestly magical to have this gorgeous of a session, so here I am sharing it all.
AWWW These two are awesome! When we talked over the phone, we barely talked "wedding business". We mostly talked BEER...listing off all our favorites breweries and how we BOTH have planned vacations around breweries we want to visit. Needless to say, we hit it off quickly. Amanda and Lindsey are genuine, kind people who deeply love their family. Their wedding day was a beautiful fall day in October where the sun was shining and the beer was flowing. Ha! But seriously, thank you for an incredible wedding day.
This was an absolutely wonderful wedding day! Veronica and Sarwan made their wedding day and celebration exactly what they wanted. They had a beautiful intimate wedding at The Loft of Elements Preserved in Elgin. 40 of their closest friends and family gathered on a chilly, wintry evening to watch Veronica and Sarwan say their vows. They then had a New Year's Eve Reception at Bowes Creek Country Club. The party was ALIVE and everyone was ready to kick-off the New Year with this fantastic couple!
This was an extra special session! Bobby works out at the same gym as I do. I have heard about Shannon for quite some time but never met her. Bobby---you are a lucky man! Shannon is delightful personality and her style is impeccable. She reminded me of a blonde version of Ali McGraw from Love Story! It's an oldie but one of my favorite movies. Something about walking around with the two of them made me think of that movie. Thank you for choosing me to capture this magical time in your lives. Your love was wonderful to be around. Congratulations again!!
OHHH these two!!! Where do I even begin? Katie was referred to me by a wonderful fellow Ksbphoto Bride. During our conversation, we realized we know several of the same people including more past Ksbphoto brides :) I just love it when you meet with a client and you instantly feel like you are talking to a friend. That's what it was like when I met Katie and Josh. They got a beautiful, warm fall day for their engagement session. We started at the historic Elgin Fire Barn and finished in downtown Elgin around Arabica Cafe. Thank you for the delicious latte and cyclones. You two are so kind and funny.
Amanda and Dustin got one of the last warm days of Fall. This lovely couple have had a busy year; her brothers wedding and becoming pup parents to the adorable Abby. Of course Abby was a part of the session and a big hit of star of the session as well. It was wonderful getting to capture how cutely Amanda and Dustin interacted with each other...how much they laughed, cuddled, and smiled at each other. I am excited to share insight into their adorable relationship and our fun time wondering around the Dundee area.
I was so eager to come home and edit this session. I have known this sweet family since Liam was a baby. I've been fortunate to document all the both newborn shoots and countless family sessions. As mom said, I swear it gets easier each year. These adorable kiddos knocked it out of the park. They were playful, sweet and extra huggy today. It's easy to see that this family has so much fun together. Thanks for letting me document another year :)
It wasn't too long ago, that I was on the sidelines cheering with Hollie underneath the Friday nights lights. We were usually bases together during Cheerleading stunts. Senior year, Hollie was cheering particularly loud for Greg. Fast forward several years, these two high school sweethearts are married and a happy family of four with their beautiful, charming twin daughters. It's always a treat to be around this family. Thank you!!!!
This kind family dressed beautifully for their family session. I love jean jackets for girls, and vests for little boys. AHH! Again, the weather held out and we were able to get this session in. No wind, warm sunshine, and a smiley, huggy family made this session so enjoyable. Thank you for letting me capture your family. I hope you enjoy your preview :)
